Derailleur hanger straightening is the process of realigning the small but crucial component that connects your rear derailleur to the frame. The hanger is designed to bend if the bike is dropped or impacted, protecting the frame and drivetrain, but even a slight misalignment can cause poor shifting, noisy gears, or the chain jumping between cogs. Using a precision alignment tool, we carefully straighten the hanger back to manufacturer tolerances to restore accurate gear changes and protect your drivetrain from unnecessary wear. This service is ideal for riders experiencing inconsistent shifting, especially after a knock, crash, or travel. We provide professional derailleur hanger straightening in Redhill and across Surrey and Sussex, helping local cyclists keep their bikes shifting smoothly and reliably.

FAQ
How long does a Gold Service take?
As this is a full strip down and rebuild, it usually takes slightly longer than our other services. Most Gold services are completed within 1 to 2 weeks depending on workload and any additional parts required.
Is this service suitable for older bikes?
Yes. Older bikes often benefit the most from a full strip down, especially if they have not had a thorough service in some time.
Will parts be replaced automatically?
No. We will always contact you before replacing any worn or damaged parts. No additional work is carried out without your approval.
What is the difference between Silver and Gold?
The Gold Service includes a full strip down and rebuild, along with headset and bottom bracket removal and re-greasing. Silver focuses more on adjustment, wheel truing, and drivetrain cleaning.
How often should I book a Gold Service?
For regularly ridden bikes, once a year is a good guideline. If you ride in harsh conditions or high mileage, you may benefit from it more frequently.
