Meet Jamie. The Mechanic Behind The Bike Lab
Making Bikes Last Longer
Hi, I'm Jamie, the founder and mechanic behind The Bike Lab.
I'm a Cytech Level 3 qualified bicycle mechanic with years of industry experience, alongside a background in competitive cycling at both national and international level.
Having spent years both racing and working on bikes, I've developed an extensive understanding of bicycle mechanics, component technology and performance. From everyday repairs to complex mechanical issues and custom builds, I bring technical expertise, precision and an exceptionally high standard of workmanship to every job.
For me, being a mechanic is about more than getting a bike working again. It's about getting every detail right, ensuring each bike performs exactly as it should and delivering a standard of service that goes beyond what's typically expected.

Why I Started The Bike Lab
After spending years working in traditional bike workshops, I wanted to create something a little different.
I recognised that getting a bike serviced isn't always as straightforward as it should be. Finding the time to take your bike to a shop, arranging transport and then returning to collect it can be inconvenient, especially when you're juggling work, family life and everything else.
I wanted to remove those barriers without compromising on the quality of the work.
That's where The Bike Lab came from.
I created a fully equipped mobile bicycle workshop that brings professional servicing and repairs directly to your home or workplace. The aim was simple: to combine the standards, tools and expertise of a traditional bicycle workshop with a service that fits around your life.
Whether you're preparing for your next event, keeping your everyday bike running smoothly or trying to keep the family's bikes in working order, I want looking after your bike to be one less thing you need to worry about.

Experience on Both Sides of the Workstand
Racing nationally and internationally has given me a valuable perspective on bicycle performance, while my years working professionally as a mechanic have allowed me to develop the technical knowledge to match.
I'm meticulous about how bikes are built, maintained and repaired. From drivetrain efficiency and precise gear adjustments to brake performance and component installation, I take pride in getting the smallest details right.
My standards have always been exceptionally high, and that commitment to quality was one of the driving forces behind starting my own business. I wanted the freedom to work to the standards I believe every customer deserves, without cutting corners or compromising on the finished result.

A Personal Approach to Bike Maintenance
Whether it's a routine service, a complete overhaul or a bespoke build, every bike receives the same care and attention.
I believe in honest advice, clear communication and only recommending work that's genuinely necessary. I'm always happy to discuss repairs, explain the options and help you make informed decisions about your bike.
Based in Redhill, I provide mobile bicycle servicing and repairs throughout Surrey and West Sussex.
As an independent mechanic, when you book with The Bike Lab, you're dealing directly with me from start to finish.
Ultimately, my goal is simple: to provide a reliable, convenient and exceptionally high-quality service that keeps you riding with confidence.
